Grand Kerala Shopping Festival Season 5

Grand Kerala Shopping Festival, the only shopping festival as such is on its way.  Grand Kerala Shopping Festival is an initiative of the Kerala Government.  The much awaited shopping event will start from December 1, 2011 and will end on January 15, 2012.  This marks the 5th season of the shopping festival since its launch in December 1, 2007.

Grand Kerala Shopping Festival is conducted by the Tourism Department along with the Industries & Commerce Department, Finance Department and Local Self Government Department.  The title sponsor of the GKSF – Season 5 is the South Indian Bank.  By conducting the shopping festival, Kerala Government aims to transform our State into a hub for international shopping and thereby launch Shopping Tourism.

Shops which are registered under Shop & Establishment Act industries and all commercial institutions (except Liquor Shops & Medical Stores selling Life Saving medicines) can register themselves to participate in the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival.  Discounts, offers, prizes etc. await the shoppers when they shop from the the shops registered under the GKSF.   Also the shoppers gets gift coupons for a fixed amount of purchase and this gets them into weekly and mega lucky draws .

This festival changes the state of Kerala into a huge shopping mall, so get ready shoppers for a shopping spree and get discounts and gifts.

Kerala Finance Department

Kerala Finance Department is an important department of Government of Kerala, headed by a senior minister with cabinet rank. The Department of Finance, Government of Kerala is responsible for planning the State budget of Government of Kerala. The department manages the states economy and spending through taxation, financial legislation and financial institutions.

National Savings Department, Treasuries Department, Local Fund Audit Department and State Insurance Department  belongs under the Kerala Finance Ministry. Kerala Financial Corporation (KFC) is also an important institution of Kerala Finance Department.

Kerala Finance Department is responsible for creating rules regulating  pay, leave and pension of all employees of Government of Kerala. Another important function of the department is the implementation of taxation policies of Kerala. The department advises other ministries for the collection of revenue.

Mr. K.M Mani is the minister of Finance of Government of Kerala.

Balarama is the best and fantastic  Malayalam weekly magazine for children.  Balarama is published by the popular media group Malayala Manorama.   Balarama brings the children a variety of  stories, puzzles, crosswords and Malayalam novels.
