Nokia Online Music Store in Kerala

Nokia launched online music store in Kerala. Famous Malayalam singer Jyotsna inaugurated the latest offering from Nokia. Nokia music store was launched earlier in India in August. It has over 30 lakh music tracks in 20 sections. Nokia has tie ups with all leading music companies in India to provide vide range of Indian and international music to customers.

Nokia online music store in Kerala has got songs from all leading singers in Kerala like KJ Yesudas, MG Sreekumar, KS Chitra, S Janaki etc. Nokia customers can utilize the Nokia music store using inbox vouchers included in all XpressMusic handsets and select Nseries and ESeries mobile devices. Supported mobile handsets are all models of XpressMusic handsets, N97, N86, E71 and E63. Nokia has plans to launch vouchers ranging from Rs 25 to Rs 200.

Customers can browse and listen to the music up to 30 seconds before downloading the songs. Music can be directly downloaded to mobile devices, and it can also be transferred to PC or burn CDs.

Minor Earthquake in Trivandrum Kerala

Mild Earthquake was felt in Trivandrum at 6.45 PM this evening. It was recorded at 3.4 in Richter scale. Mild tremors were felt at Technopark, Kazhakkuttom, Pothencode and within 25 km radius of Trivandrum city.  In places like Varkala and Chirayinkeezhu it was felt with a bit more intensity. The minor earthquake in Trivandrum lasted for around 2.5 seconds. Some of the offices in Technopark were quickly evacuated.

Causalities or major damages were not reported so far. The epicenter was 18 kilometers from the Trivandrum city. Meteorological Centre, Thiruvananthapuram has requested the public to remain calm and has informed that no further tremors will occur in the city.

All Kerala Government employees to get email IDs

All Kerala Government employees to get email IDs in a phased manner. Chief Minister Achuthanandan inaugurated the ‘Email to All Employees’ project on Tuesday. Over 475,000 government employees will get benefit of this project. More than 4,000 employees received their official email IDs as phase I implementation of this project undertaken by C-Dit.

Rathan Kelkar, director of Kerala’s state IT mission that is implementing the project, said there would be an improvement in the efficiency of government functioning once this project is completed.

‘Email to All Employees’ project is developed entirely on Free and Open Source (FOSS) platform. Kerala State Government employees would be provided web based access to email. This an important milestone in improving efficiency of Government of Kerala.
