Onam release movies for 2009 in Kerala

Onam 2009 comes with no new release movies of super stars Mammootty, Mohan Lal, Suresh Gopi and Dileep. This is because Noaymbu period falls in the Onam season. Most of the super star movie releases are postponed. Malayalees celebrates Onam 2009 with family entertainers.

Kana Kanmani

Kana Kanmani is the major onam release movie for 2009. Akku Akbar and K Gireesh Kumar teams up again with Jayaram after the success of Veruthe Oru Bharya. Padmapriya is the heroine of Jayaram in this film. This is a family entertainer. Biju Menon, Nedumudi Venu, Suraj Venjarammoodu, Vijaya Raghavan, T.P Madhavan, Sukumari, and Baby Nivedita are also a part of this movie.

Oru Black and White Kudumbam

Kalabhavan Mani acts as the father of Jayasurya in this movie. This is the debut movie of director Shyju Anthikkad. Oru Black and White kudumbam is produced by M Mani on behalf of Sunitha Productions. Cast – Jagathy, Lalu Alex, Suraj Venjarammoodu, Anoop Chandran, Biju Kuttan, Kochu Preman, Bhama, Vinaya Prasad, Ponnamma Babu and Manka Mahesh.

Infosys campus in Trivandrum to be opened soon

Infosys plans to open its campus near Technopark in Trivandrum soon. It is on a 50 acre plot adjacent to Technopark. The campus has IT Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status. The SEZ would have two separate buildings, one is almost ready and work on the other is progressing. Both the buildings have capacity to seat 1,500 professionals. Innovative architecture of the new Infosys campus in Technopark is attractive. The first building is almost ready leaving some final touches to common amenities and a food court.

Currently Infosys has a development centre in Technopark Phase I campus employing 1,500 professionals. Infosys preferred to inaugurate both the buildings together in late 2009 or early 2010, however Kerala state Government wants the IT major to open the first building at the earliest. Construction was started in the new Infosys campus in 2007.

Google Doodle Competition for Indian School Students

Google announces Doodle 4 Google competition for Indian school students. Doodle is the Google logo designs on the Google home page celebrating important events and people. The theme for the Doodle competition is My India. Indian school students from class 1 to class 10th can participate in this competition. The winning Doodle will be displayed on Google home page on 14th November 2009. Winner will get a cool laptop and the winners  school will be awarded a technology grant of Rs. 1,00,000.

The competition is open to all students attending a school in India between classes 1 and 10. Doodles will be judged in the following three brackets:

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd standards
  • 4th, 5th, and 6th standards
  • 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th standards

600 semi finalists will be chosen from all over India and from these 45 finalists will be chosen by the judging panel (15 each from each group). These 45 doodles will be made available to the Indian public who can vote for the doodles they like best in each age bracket from October 21, 2009. After the public online vote across the three age brackets, the final winner will be decided by Google’s original doodler, Dennis Hwang. The final winner will be announced at an awards ceremony attended by the finalists and members of Google’s judging panel.
