Tech a break 2010 concluded in Technopark with a colorful fashion show. IBS won the company of the year. Allianz Cornhill is first runner up and NeST is second runner up.
In this sixth edition of Tech a break, it was fierce competition between the Technopark companies. Techies of various companies in Technopark added color and enthusiasm to the festivities. It was a fun filled week for all in Technopark.
Technocity – the fourth phase of Technopark is expected to generate around 50,000 direct jobs and around 2 lakh indirect jobs. Technocity is planned to be a complete IT city, spread across 500 acres, which includes not just space for IT/ITES companies, but also residential, commercial, hospitality, medical and educational facilities supporting the IT population.
Government of Kerala has completed the formalities for acquisition of land for the Technocity project. Up on the cabinet approval for the price of land, the acquisition was completed by the Revenue Department. The land is spread across Pallipuram, Melthonnakkal, Andoorkonam and Veiloor villages in Trivandrum district.
Government of Kerala has already finalized the rehabilitation package for the evictees of Technocity project area. Technocity project is planned as a self-dependent satellite city of Trivandrum that would not strain the resources and infrastructure of the city.
Technocity project would also aim for investments in biotechnology, nanotechnology, high-end manufacturing and R&D. The project will be developed through multiple special purpose vehicles (SPVs) in association with private participants as well.
Since the major obstacle of land acquisition is now over the Technocity project will be completed in a fast pace. Technocity project is coming up at Pallipuram, suburbs of Trivandrum city and within around 10 Km from the Technopark. Once completed, Technocity will become the largest IT city in India.

The theme of Tech a break 2010 rally was Polka dots and Masquerade
Tech-a-Break 2010 is here. Tech a break is the annual sports and cultural celebrations conducted in Technopark Trivandrum. Technopark is organizing the sixth edition of “Tech-a-Break 2010″ from 19th February to 26th February 2010.
This years Tech a break include a colorful rally on Monday 22nd February. The theme of this year’s rally is “Polka dots”. Many companies in Technopark take part in the rally with great enthusiasm. Celebrations include inter-company music and Dance competitions and sports competitions. There will be a 20:20 Celebrity Cricket Match with Kirmani and Sunil Joshi.
NeST will be the Title Sponsor for the event. Principal sponsor is UST Global and Platinum sponsor is IBS. Infosys and Allianz are Gold sponsors of the events, and Leela and M-Squared are silver sponsors.
Main attraction of Tech a break 2010 is Benny Dayal concert on the 26th February 2010. There will also be Rock show, Fashion show, Music and Dance competitions in this year. Tech-a-Break is the festive time for about 25,000 techies working in about 200 companies in Technopark.
