Famous Malayalam music director MG Radhakrishnan passed away today (02/07/2010) at Thiruvananthapuram. He was 73 years old. He was ailing from liver decease and was admitted in a hospital at Trivandrum. MG Radhakrishnan is the brother of famous music personalities MG Sreekumar and Dr. K Omanakkutty. His light music compositions won the heart of Malayalam music lovers. His career started as a music director with All India Radio. “Khanasyama Sandhya Hridayam” and “Odakkuzhal Vili Ozhu Ozhhuki Varum” are his most famous light music compositions during his tenure at All India Radio.
He started his Movie career in 1978. The very first song he composed for the movie Thambu itself became a big hit. His songs in the movie Manichitrathazhu became super hits. His famous compositions include songs in Devasuram, Ananthabhadram, Chamaram etc. MG Radhakrishnan won the Kerala State film awards for best music director twice in the years 2001 and 2005.
He was born in 1937 at Harippad in Alappuzha district to Malabar Gopalan Nair and Kamalakshi Amma.
