Malayalam Wiki Meet at Kochi

Activists of Malayalam Wiki, the Malayalam language edition of popular Wikipedia are meeting at Rajagiri College, Kochi on 17th April 2010. To popularize Malayalam wiki activities, it has been decided to allow public participation in this third edition of Malayalam Wiki meet up.

Malayalam edition of Wikipedia was started in 2002, and it gas gained momentum in recent years with the introduction of Malayalam unicode fonts. There are around 12000 articles in the Malayalam Wiki currently.

Forenoon session from 10 AM is for the Malayalam Wiki activists and the afternoon session is for public. Public participation of the Wiki meet is aimed to create an extensive awareness about Malayalam Wiki among general public.

Currently Wikipedia is available in 229 languages. Malayalam is among few languages where mobile Wiki is available.
