Model School is one of the oldest schools in Kerala. The school is managed by the Government of Kerala. Model school follows Kerala Syllabus. The history of the school dates back to 1885. It is one of the best Government schools in Kerala. The school has over 4500 students from classes from 1 to XII. Notable alumni’s of the school are Mohanlal, M.G Sreekumar, Maniyanpilla Raju, Priyadarshn and Balabhasker. Many IAS officers are also alumni’s of the school notably Jiji Thomson, Bharatbhooshan and Nalini Netto.
