Google Doodle Competition for Indian School Students

Google announces Doodle 4 Google competition for Indian school students. Doodle is the Google logo designs on the Google home page celebrating important events and people. The theme for the Doodle competition is My India. Indian school students from class 1 to class 10th can participate in this competition. The winning Doodle will be displayed on Google home page on 14th November 2009. Winner will get a cool laptop and the winners  school will be awarded a technology grant of Rs. 1,00,000.

The competition is open to all students attending a school in India between classes 1 and 10. Doodles will be judged in the following three brackets:

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd standards
  • 4th, 5th, and 6th standards
  • 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th standards

600 semi finalists will be chosen from all over India and from these 45 finalists will be chosen by the judging panel (15 each from each group). These 45 doodles will be made available to the Indian public who can vote for the doodles they like best in each age bracket from October 21, 2009. After the public online vote across the three age brackets, the final winner will be decided by Google’s original doodler, Dennis Hwang. The final winner will be announced at an awards ceremony attended by the finalists and members of Google’s judging panel.
